Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist Dorset County Hospital

We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking, highly skilled and motivated Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist to work full-time (10 PA) in this newly expanded post located in Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester.

This is an ideal time to be joining the service as the successful candidate would have a key role to play in service development and will work alongside a CAMHS liaison psychiatrist (9 PA) working between DCH, Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

These posts have been created as part of a substantial expansion of the Psychiatric Liaison Service at DCH, with the aim of providing a comprehensive service to patients of all ages attending the hospital and working towards Core 24 standards and PLAN accreditation by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Liaison psychiatry is an incredibly varied subspecialty, and in addition to a broad and exciting range of clinical work, a rewarding part of the job is in developing and managing relationships with acute hospital colleagues from different backgrounds and specialties.

The successful candidate must ensure the relevant professional registration is maintained, including Approved Clinician status, and will be incorporated into the senior On-Call rota which is currently 1 in 25 for week days and 1 in 8 on call for West Dorset week-ends.

Employment in this post required an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS Levies a charge of £40 and the Trust will recover this cost instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service will not incur a charge.
