Consultant in Ophthalmology sub-specialty in Glaucoma

The Manchester Royal Eye Hospital wishes invite applications for the post of Consultant Ophthalmologist with a special interest in Glaucoma to join the current team of five consultants.

The Consultant will provide a sub-specialty expertise in Glaucoma which is based currently based at the Oxford Road with five other centres across the City. Applicants should have a post-CCT fellowship in glaucoma.

The consultant will have an on call and emergency department commitment.

It would be desirable for the candidates to have experience of high-volume cataract surgery which is undertaken in our community cataract centre at Withington.

Applicants should have Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists or equivalent and appropriate fellowship training is essential and a higher degree is desirable. This is a 10 PA substantive consultant contract. Applications will be accepted from those who for personal reasons cannot work full-time.

Applicants must be eligible for full registration with the GMC at the time of appointment.

Applicants must have entry on the GMC Specialist Register via one of the following:

1) Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
(The proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview)

2) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
(CESR Candidates must have written GMC confirmation at the time of interview)
