CONSULTANT HAEMATOLOGIST POSTS
The Edinburgh Cancer Centre is the regional specialist cancer centre for the South and East of Scotland with a tertiary catchment of around 2 million people. The Lothian haematology service spans a number of sites including the Western General Hospital the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and St John's Hospital Livingston.
A ?38m reconfiguration of the Specialist Centre is underway. We are designing a new world class specialist cancer centre to be located on the Western General Hospital (WGH) site. The WGH department is a BSH Level 3 centre and is an autologous stem cell transplantation centre. New consultant posts have been created at the WGH to expand the Lymphoproliferative service in addition to leading on research clinical trials development and the development of Advanced Therapies such as CAR-T cells.
The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is a Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre. There are plans to develop a regional thrombogenomics service. Edinburgh has a well established reputation for delivering world class research in partnership with the University of Edinburgh.
SNBTS National Headquarters and the Edinburgh Bio-quarter are also nearby. We are additionally building a rapidly expanding research programme and Clinical Academic team spanning all our specialties. New research facilities will also open within 12 months. The following consultant vacancies are available:
