Approximately 180-190 new cancers are diagnosed through the screening unit each year. Three consultant radiologists leading the breast screening service also support the symptomatic service at University Hospital Crosshouse in addition to other general & breast radiologist. They support all rapid access clinics in Ayrshire which are currently conducted at University Hospital Crosshouse as well as one clinic at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
The successful candidate will undertake regular operating lists including localisation surgery for impalpable breast lesions and is expected to have considerable training and experience in this aspect of breast surgery. Candidates with oncoplastic surgery training and or experience would be welcomed.
Appropriately experienced candidates will hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice and must be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT or CESR at the date of interview.
