Contracts and Performance Officer - LOCAL AUTHORITY
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
£11.78 hourly pay rate
3month temporary assignment (may be extended)

Located predominantly within a Police Station and situated in the Community Safety team, this post will provide a range of performance management, client and contract management across the Safer and Stronger Communities area and wider Directorate.

Main duties shall include:
*Establish datasets and reporting systems.
*Participate in and support business process re-engineering and systems change.
*Collect and analyse information from a variety of sources and prepare basic reports/analysis to support the delivery of services.
*Deliver a range of standard contract/commissioning administrative services for both internal use and to support the work of contractors/delivery partners.
*Where appropriate supervise the tasks and activities of other team members including prioritising and scheduling of work.
*No direct budgetary accountability but will be required to assist from time to time in the management and oversight of financial aspects community safety activity.
*To establish links, communication and strengthen joint working between agencies in the Community Safety Partnership.
*To help develop and monitor Community Safety projects as required.
*To attend meetings, present reports, maintain records and prepare progress reports and minutes.
*To be responsible for monitoring a wide range of contracts and services across the Safer and Stronger Communities remit such as Parking and Community Safety.
*To be responsible for compiling and analysing performance data and presenting this effectively.
*Establish datasets and reporting systems across the Safer and Stronger Communities area and wider Directorate.
*Present information in an accessible way to a wide range of audiences in a range of formats including formal reports.
*Participate in and support business process re-engineering and systems change in the Safer and Stronger Communities area and wider Directorate.
*To keep up to date with changes in legislation, regulations, policy and best practice developments

Person specification (knowledge, skills, experience and behaviours required in the role):
*Experience of information sharing practice between public sector agencies and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
*High degree of numeracy and analytical skills
*An understanding of crime, crime reduction and the issues surrounding community safety and partnership working.
*Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, including meeting conflicting deadlines and managing a number of complex tasks simultaneously.
*Experience of working within a local authority environment, preferably within a Community Safety or Partnership environment.
*Experience of administrative support, including the taking and recording of accurate minutes, report writing and in dealing with enquiries both verbally and in writing.
*Experience of working in a political context and the ability to build and maintain relationships with senior officers, staff and partner agencies
*Proven organisational skills including the ability to manage and co-ordinate partnership meetings and conferences.

The successful candidate(s) will also need to undergo an enhanced security vetting process done by the Police for access/entry to the Police station.
