Configuration and Release Analyst 12 month fixed term

12 MONTH FIXED CONTRACT

Responsible for the day to day Configuration & Release management of Application deployments across all business services.
Proactively manages the components of software development projects from requirements through maintenance
Operates effective change management and release management policies and processes for the in-house systems work in order to minimise the impact of change-related incidents upon operational service quality and projects
Responsible for maintaining the configuration management (CM) environment, policy and procedure guidelines, CM planning, reporting and audits, product scope change control, version control, release management, CM documentation and product component integration

Duties and Responsibilities

General
Provides an effective configuration and change management service, covering the agreed systems/projects, in order to ensure stability in a changing environment
Understand the requirements of the technological scope of any agreed project, its complexity and required functionality, in order to maintain an effective end-to-end configuration and release management solution
Proposes improvements to existing configuration/release management processes

Configuration management
Set up the necessary hardware and CM tools
Set up and manage the development storage architecture and files
Protect the baseline reference documentation and files, providing source/version control admin and ownership
Provide for parallel development streams, as required

Release management
Carries out the successful rollout of new or changed software components
Ensures that master copies of all software are secured in the CM system
Participates in release activities, including establishing effective deployment and rollback/contingency processes

Salary: £21,000 - £28,000 plus excellent benefits.
