An experienced Conference, Events and Banqueting Manager is required by an award winning establishment. The ideal candidate will be experienced with weddings and banqueting for more than 3 years.

If you have a history of excelling that creates future business in a background environment of 50+ weddings, 100+ smaller functions as well as restaurant and / or hotel environments you should apply.

What will you be responsible for?

Being the brand ambassador perhaps the most important duty you will have as the Conference, Events and Banqueting Manager is providing impeccable customer service. You must anticipate the wants and needs of all attendees of the banquet / restaurant. In addition, you must have the ability to communicate significantly well at all levels in order to create an understanding with all guests. Overall, as the banqueting manager you must negotiate arrangements with guests and execute a banquet that exceeds guests' expectations.

Employee training is a hugely important factor of the banqueting manager role as your well trained team will make your role significantly easier. As employees are hired they must be oriented not only in food service but also customer and guest relations in line with the standards required of you, who is essentially responsible for their actions and their outcomes. In addition to general training, servers require specific instruction before an event, as every banquet and event is different. You must effectively explain to staff conditions such as plate placement, wine service and other guests’ requests. Ensuring that you and your team can make an outstanding impression on what may potentially be the guests first and last experience at the venue.

As the Conference, Events and Banqueting Manager you’ll have a lot on your plate and we will expect you to be successful in P&L management and be savvy in your ability to manage labour margins effectively. You’ll need to be an outstanding leader, as your team will look to you for inspiration and development.
