Important: The pay rate stated is only during your 3-month probationary period and will change once probation has been completed.

We are a rapidly growing concrete test company based in Daventry, Northamptonshire looking for hard-working individuals. We offer full in-house training and ongoing support, and a very rewarding role.

Prior knowledge of ready-mix concrete would be beneficial but not essential.

Position: Full time (Monday to Friday).

Pay: Monthly via BACS

Starting and finishing hours can vary due to site start times.

Overtime

  • Weekend working on a rotation basis (when required).
  • Weekends are paid at a time and a half (when required).
  • Night work is paid at double time (when required).

Duties

  • Drive to sites across the United Kingdom.
  • Sample and test fresh concrete, including slump testing and additional air entrainment and fibre washout tests.
  • Manufacture cube samples into steel moulds in line with UKAS and British standards.
  • Perform on-site investigation activities on hardened concrete such as diamond drilling (coring) and Schmidt rebound hammer.
  • Complete concrete cube collections.
  • Assist in our laboratories when required.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Clean full driving license.
  • Over the age of 21 (due to insurance reasons).
  • We provide on-site training, so no previous experience is necessary.
  • Motivated
  • Hardworking
  • Have good communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Understand the basics of technology (We use iPhone's to manage and upload to our testing systems and satnavs).
  • Be prepared for some early start times.
  • Be respectful at all times to clients and colleagues.
  • Disclose any medical conditions before commencing employment.

Security Clearance

If required, be prepared to undergo background checks using a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) provider. We work in many construction sectors, some highly classified, such as Nuclear and Military installations, which require checks and are in line with our GDPR, Security and Privacy policies.

CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)

It would be beneficial if you already possess a valid CSCS card, although not a requirement for employment. We will give you study material and a phone app for your CSCS exam as part of your training which leads to a basic 1-hour test at a Pearson Vue test centre.

COVID-19 Considerations:

All personnel are to wear masks and sanitise hands. Regularly complete lateral flow tests and upload evidence to our secure cloud portal.
