A vacancy has arisen for a Concept Manager based at our Linton site. Reporting to the Innovation Manager you will be responsible for driving the NPD / EPD agenda for Waitrose, setting the NPD strategy and ensuring that our activity is market leading. The NPD categories managed from Linton are the BBQ, Easy to Cook and party food category and the pork, sausage, third party and SMC category.
The successful candidate will manage the total development process within the relevant category, successful delivering the internal as well as Waitrose’s critical paths, from concept brief through to post launch reviews. Ensuring the required innovative approach is applied at each stage. Managing a team comprising of a Concept Technologist and a Process Technologist, you will be responsible for growing and developing the team member’s skills and capabilities across the business and setting, reviewing and measuring clear objectives and KPI’s.
Working closely with all areas of the business you will drive the food culture internally throughout our business and the food agenda as a whole with our suppliers ensuring all innovation and industry best practice expectations are met.

The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent in a related field plus relevant experience within the food industry. You will be a real foodie, passionate about innovation, and have a proven track record with launching new products including both concept and process development as well as people management, effective planning and organisational skills. You must also be an effective communicator, able to confidently liaise with key people within Waitrose and our business, engage and influence others, be an experienced and resilient problem solver and be able to demonstrate strong IT skills.
