South West London School are seeking a committed, loyal and enthusiastic teacher of Computer Science to join our very strong and high achieving Computer Science department. Computer Science is a highly achieving and popular subject and the department is a Computer Science Hub for Wandsworth.
You are driven, dedicated and decisive. You have the ability to stretch and challenge pupils whilst continuing to nurture their enjoyment of the subject. You can use real life examples within the classroom and have a good, strong presence. You must be open to sharing resources and planning with a small but strong team.
About the School:
This South West School is an 11-19 boys school with a mixed sixth form of 350 students based in state of the art buildings especially in STEM subjects, and with good transport links. In their last Ofsted inspection in October 2011 they judged the school to be OUTSTANDING.
In 2017, 63% of pupils obtained both English and Maths at GCSE at Grade 4+, 33% obtained the Ebacc at Grade 4+ and over a 100 pupils out of a cohort of 150 went to University, 60 in STEM related subjects. We are an Elite Sports College competing at national level in a range of sports. We are one of only 4 schools in the country to have been awarded STEM status, the only school in London to have a Combined Cadet Force on site and we have recently formed a Cricket Academy in partnership with Twenty20 Community Cricket.
