Compliance Manager

Home based • £30,000 - £40,000 negotiable DOE • Permanent • Full time

Job Description:

Arden Personnel are currently recruiting for a Compliance Manager. You will be responsible for;

  • Working with the business teams to prepare or respond to legal terms in tenders and advise the on business issues as requested or appropriate
  • Providing guidance and assistance on interpretation of contractual clauses and obligations across the business
  • Participate in reviews and maintenance of standard contract templates
  • Assist with contracts/legal training to sales and other stakeholders as required
  • Responsible for all export and import compliance issues across all Company locations
  • Providing advice and guidance to all areas of the business in relation to UK Export Licensing issues
  • Commercial management/preparation of all necessary licences and documentation to ensure deliveries are made in a timely, cost-effective and compliant manner
  • Undertaking internal audits and where issues are found liaise with appropriate business area and assist with corrective action plan to ensure company compliance

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for this Compliance Manager role you will need to have;

  • Extensive knowledge of UK export licensing regulations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of classification, denied party screening and other trade compliance processes
  • Ability to conduct trade related investigations
  • Highly motivated, proactive, self starter with excellent judgment and professional maturity
  • Solid project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a high-volume, multi-tasking environment and to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on clear understanding of the regulations
  • Strong research and analytical ability
  • Demonstrated ability to project authority and influence senior management and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines, and geographies necessary to achieve compliance
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel (40%)

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (or equivalent) or beyond is preferred, but not required if experience commensurate
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of export, import, and other trade-related requirements and regulations
  • Minimum three to five years experience in a multinational company serving in a supervisory international export and/or import trade position
  • Experience in building and managing a comprehensive trade compliance program.
  • Experience in conducting trade compliance reviews and developing effective countermeasures for identified gaps, preferred
  • Basic knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and software applications used for screening of restricted parties – JDE/Trax preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
