Compliance Manager - Legal

As a Legal Compliance Manager you will deliver a customer focussed service to the business in relation to guidance on compliance, client care and complaint handling.

Main duties:

  • To take lead responsibility, working in conjunction with the Head of Compliance, for dealing with all client complaints including liaison with the Legal Ombudsman
  • Promote principles of good client care practice throughout the business
  • Prepare statistical complaints handling information
  • To provide guidance at all levels of the business on compliance issues to include advice on the SRA Code of Conduct, anti-money laundering and compliance related legal obligations
  • Be a subject matter expert on compliance and complaint handling issues and to keep up to date with developments in compliance
  • Contribute to the drafting of reports as directed
  • Deliver induction training and assist in the development and delivery of regulatory and other training across the business
  • Assist with the monitoring, review and development of policy, process and procedure required for maintaining Lexcel accreditation
  • To assist with the creation of and updating of risk registers
  • Assist with compliance audits
  • To support and deputise for the Head of Compliance
  • Required qualifications:
  • Educated to degree level
  • Skills and behaviours
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent client care skills
  • Statistical Analysis; and Report writing
  • Experience Demonstrable experience of working in a compliance function within a professional services firm
  • Experience in complaints handling
  • Practical knowledge of solicitors’ regulation
