Our client has a vacancy for a Compliance Assistant to join the Risk & Compliance team. This is a full-time (part-time may be considered) permanent role that will be based in our Milton Keynes office but you will be required to travel to Luton and Harpenden offices.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, the main purpose of this role is to ensure compliance by the firm with its regulatory obligations. In particular, your responsibilities will include:
Undertaking legal research on a regular basis to ensure you are aware of regulatory developments, and can respond to any queries on these matters
Assisting with due diligence research for new clients
Dealing with AML and conflict queries
Updating and maintaining the firm's compliance policies
Preparing responses for regulators, clients and other third parties
Auditing files to check compliance with firm policy, legal and regulatory requirements
Assisting with ad-hoc projects as and when required
You will have experience within the legal industry, a strong eye for detail and a genuine interest in legal regulation.
Experience working with a range of MS Office programmes - in particular, Excel
Strong communication skills - able to give clear responses to requests, particularly those which are insufficient to action without further information being provided by the requestor
Can demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be able to interact with people at all levels
Can follow instructions and maintain momentum, even with repetitive tasks
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and manage and prioritise workloads
Experience of risk and audit work.
