Please note, this role is based in Gibraltar and the candidate is willing to relocate permanently to the surrounding area.


Role Summary:

The Senior Compliance Analyst will be responsible for leading and embedding the compliance function across Gibraltar operations comply with all local laws, regulatory requirements, and group-wide standards. This is a hands-on role, requiring direct execution of compliance activities, including serving as the point of contact for regulators, managing compliance risks, and delivering compliance training.

The role combines strategic oversight with operational delivery – ensuring compliance frameworks are robust, practical, and effectively implemented in Gibraltar.



Primary Responsibilities:

• Act as Compliance Officer and MLRO for the Gibraltar entity

• Serve as the main point of contact with GFSC (and other regulatory bodies, as needed) and support inspections, submissions, and reporting requirements.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory and financial crime compliance risks across the European operations.

• Draft, update, and implement compliance-related policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with both local laws and group standards.

• Prepare and deliver the annual Compliance Plan, ensuring it is executed within agreed timeframes, and report progress and findings to the Boards of Directors.

• Conduct second line reviews (compliance and AML/CFT reviews), ensuring corrective actions are followed through.

• Monitor, interpret, and communicate regulatory developments, advising business units and boards on implications and necessary actions.

• Develop and deliver compliance, AML/CFT, and data protection training for staff to promote a strong compliance culture.

• Compile and submit internal and external compliance reports, including regulatory filings and board reports.

• Work closely with the Group Compliance function to ensure alignment with global frameworks while tailoring for European operations.

• Provide hands-on support to business units, offering practical, solution-focused compliance guidance.

• Maintain integrity and independence in all compliance-related activities.

• Deliver practical and user-friendly compliance advice that supports business operations while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

• Actively contribute to and embed a culture of compliance within the European entities.

• Ensure frameworks and controls are consistently applied across Gibraltar and Malta, while accommodating local requirements.

• Build effective working relationships with regulators, boards, and internal stakeholders to foster trust and confidence in the compliance function.

• Demonstrate knowledge of Gibraltar regulatory frameworks, keeping entities updated on changes.

• Achieve agreed annual compliance objectives and performance measures.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Group or senior management.


Skills, Experience & Attributes:


• At least 5 years’ compliance experience within financial services, ideally insurance, with previous MLRO or Deputy MLRO responsibilities.

• Strong knowledge of Gibraltar regulatory and AML/CFT frameworks; familiarity with Malta and wider EU requirements is an advantage.

• Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with regulators, including preparing submissions and supporting inspections.

• Hands-on experience drafting and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and monitoring frameworks.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills, with excellent attention to detail.

• Confident communicator, able to engage with Boards, regulators, and employees at all levels.

• Relevant professional compliance or AML qualifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) preferred.

• High ethical standards, professional integrity, and resilience, with a practical, solution-focused approach.

• Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to influence, build trust, and work effectively across Gibraltar and Malta operations.
