Complex Home Care Assistant

We are looking for experienced Complex Care Assistants to uphold our philosophies and provide the highest standard of care in Eastleigh, Winchester, Cahndlers Ford, Romsey, Bishops Waltham and surrounding areas, supporting clients in their day-to-day lives through our local Southampton Complex Care at Home Team.

Drivers are preferred for this role to enable easier access to client locations.

The Care at Home Role

Through your promotion of independence, you will encourage and support clients in their day-to-day lives, enabling them to live more fulfilling lives. This could include a range of tasks and activities such as personal care, domestic tasks and general activities that allow that individual to live their life in the way they choose. It is essential that you are able to work in a kind, compassionate and professional manner, putting the service user at the centre of all you do

Due to the complex healthcare challenges that our clients present, we are especially seeking applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Medication administration
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Tracheostomies
  • PEG feeds and medications
  • Oral Suctioning
  • Mobilisation (moving and handling)
  • Diabetic awareness and observations
  • Epilepsy care
  • Ventilators
  • Stomas
  • Paediatric care

Upon joining, you'll receive a full in-house induction as well as an introduction to the client you will be supporting their needs and care plan. You'll receive any training necessary to top up your skills, including a shadow shift if required.

Person Specification

You will need to have the right to live and work in the UK, at least 3 months previous paid care experience in the UK and suitable referee contact details to apply for this vacancy. You will also need a valid certificate confirming your participation in a practical moving and handling course, or be willing to book onto a Newcross course. A medication administration certificate is highly desirable.
