My client are an exciting Software Tech company who require an Accountant to join their Finance team in Bristol. You will be joining a team of 3 and come with a good amount of experience within a similar set up. AAT qualified or working towards CIMA/ACCA will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and control sales, purchase and nominal ledgers
  • Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Initiate record and confirm payments to suppliers and service providers
  • Process journals, trial balance information and prepare month-end financial reports
  • Proactively improve processes and use of newly implemented financial system
  • Process monthly payroll and pension information and payments
  • Prepare, reconcile and file VAT and PAYE/NI
  • Maintain the Fixed Assets Register
  • Maintain Employee expense reimbursement process
  • Process payroll (including holiday pay, notice period calculations, etc.)
  • Administrator of government deductions (CSA, auto-enrolment etc.)
  • Order and manage office supplies

Key Requirements

  • AAT qualified or studying for CIMA/ACCA
  • High level of urgency and attention to detail and accuracy required
  • The ability to be extremely discreet and safeguard sensitive company and employee confidential information required
  • Experience working with both ERP and outsourced payroll solutions. Access Dimensions (ERP), Focal Point (timesheets) and Blue Marble (payroll) systems knowledge highly beneficial
  • Methodical and organized approach to handling data and information from various sources in a timely manner
  • Spot, investigate and partner in resolving potential errors in data
  • Exhibit a willingness to take on tasks outside of your usual responsibilities and comfort zone. Demonstrate a "do what it takes" attitude.
  • Be a self-starter and be comfortable working with minimal supervision at times
  • Intermediate level user for MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook
  • You will be personable, supportive and collaborative and understand the careful balance between being professional and friendly versus overly familiar and too casual
  • Have an excellent grasp of numbers and a good grasp of English. Exhibit solid communications skills - both written and verbal. Addressing policies and numerical information will be central to the role.
