About Us:

We are Hospiscare, a highly respected adult hospice charity operating in Exeter, Mid and East Devon. We believe that everyone approaching the end of their lives should receive the best possible care and be able to die well in their preferred place of care.

Established by Liz and John Searle in 1982, Hospiscare has grown from just two community nurses to a pioneering organisation that supports around 2,500 patients and their families every year.

Now, we are looking for a Community Fundraiser to help us continue our vital work, working with communities throughout Mid Devon.

Your Role:

As a Community Fundraiser, you’ll drive our fundraising activities and build strong relationships within your community to raise awareness of Hospiscare and increase the charity’s income.

Supported by our Fundraising Team at Searle House, you will:

- Assist the Events & Community Fundraising Manager with key initiatives
- Deliver community activities, including appeals, to promote our cause
- Build positive, long lasting relationships within your community and increase our supporter base
- Work with the Marketing & Communications Team to create compelling marketing materials that engage supporters
- Use social media to increase awareness of the charity
- Liaise with the Fundraising Team, Support Groups and Volunteer Manager to find volunteers for fundraising events
- Carry out research to ensure we’re providing the best possible community activities and assistance to our supporters

About You:

To join us as a Community Fundraiser, you’ll need:

- Experience of forming and developing excellent relationships
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, databases and publishing packages
- To be educated to A-Level standard, including Maths and English GCSEs (or equivalent)
- A driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Great communication skills

Previous experience in a fundraising role would be beneficial, but this is not essential.

Other organisations may call this role Community Fundraiser, Community Fundraising Officer, Regional Fundraising Officer, Fundraising Officer, Events Executive, Events Co-ordinator, Charity Fundraiser or Fundraising Co-ordinator.

Please note, this is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week. This may occasionally include evening and weekend work to support fundraising activities and events.
