As the Interim Communications Officer you will be co-ordinating the internal and external marketing communication needs of the business to ensure a consistent, professional and value for money service. Plan communication activity, creating content, and assisting other staff in news and communication with the development of short-term messages and longterm campaign/community involvement initiative. Provide communication support to relevant operational activity in order to improve awareness, perceptions and satisfaction of the business

Responsibilities:
Coordinate operational and educational activities across the region
Develop project plans in line with road safety activity
Responsibility for communication relevant aspects of the business communication initiatives and research finding to members
Carry out focus groups with key individuals and use customer insight, information, research and intelligence to identify, develop and implement marketing communication, campaigns and activities
Plan, develop and implement communication plans in line with the Digital and Social Media strategy to support priorities and operational activity. The plans will influence perceptions, satisfaction, community awareness and engagement and maintain reputation
Develop and review the annual communication plan to ensure this is consistent with and supports objectives
Co-ordinate specific targeted marketing projects from inception, implementation and to evaluation to positively influence the public perception. Activities includes:
Develop project plans which involve timing, budgets, areas of responsibility, evaluation and deliver of key components of the campaign, while obtaining best value for money and maximising best use of resources
Identifying opportunities for partnership working, external funding and added value
Consulting and involving all stakeholders in the process of project development and implementation to obtain their buy-in
Working in co-operation with News and Communication colleagues to ensure a multi-channelled approach to all activity
Having responsibility for communicating relevant aspects of corporate communication initiatives and research findings to internal customers

Key Requirements:
Desirable qualifications required - Media/Communications
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise and communicate with colleagues at all levels of seniority
Strong all-round communication skills, especially writing, editing, verbal and good presentation skills to internal and external groups
