Our client has a vacancy for a talented, passionate communications professional to join their dynamic team. You will report to the Chief Communications Officer and will primarily be involved in the development of communications.

The role

  • Interacting with the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) and the business members to ensure consistency of communications across the online service, with service users and stakeholder relations as well as the media.

  • Planning and delivering the communications schedule of activity, aligned to corporate priorities, which includes media liaison, website content management, production of publications and marketing materials and support for conference and events.

  • Being aware of reputational risks to the business in relation to performance against KPIs/SLAs; keeping the Chief Communications Officer, and where appropriate, the Directors abreast of any issues of concern.

  • Representing the business at external meetings.

  • Maintaining the corporate identity - acting as brand custodian.

  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with suppliers.

  • Controlling and capturing the measurement of content and messages delivered in the media.

The successful candidate must already meet Level 6 of the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF). This equates to: Bachelor’s degree, BTEC Advanced Professional Diplomas, or CIPR Level 7 Diploma in Public Relations. It is a requirement that the successful candidate already has or is willing to study for a relevant PR related professional qualification.

You should also have:

  • 5 years' + PR/Comms experience

  • Previous experience within media relations and Public Affairs

  • A comprehensive understanding of best practice within the communications and marketing

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to form relationships with internal and external parties at all levels

  • Previous project management experience

  • Awareness of and an interest in media, in particular developing new communication channels

  • An ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

  • A desire to actively improve professional qualifications with CPD evidence
