Commissioning Engineer

Required to test, commission and service capital plants on a global basis and at base in Hampshire

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

The Commissioning Engineer will take responsibility for the commissioning and service of plants on a worldwide basis. Including:

  • Commissioning of plant (including mechanical, electrical and PLC) working alone or in small teams
  • Main contact with customer during the commissioning phase
  • Supervision of customer or third party personnel for installation and/ or commissioning support work
  • Factory acceptance testing (FAT) and on-site testing (SAT)
  • Plant support via telephone and/or remote control systems
  • Completion to schedule, cost and specification including Acceptance Certificate(s) and contact closure reporting
  • C&I Commissioning
  • International Travel

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years working experience
  • Computer literate: Excel, Word, Lotus notes, Project
  • Previous experience in process control systems
  • C&I commissioning
  • Understanding of cryogenic processes
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment, compressors and chillers
  • Understanding of low voltage distribution switch gear
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, flow meters, P& T transmitters
  • Good technical report writing skills
  • PLC systems: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon (desirable)
  • A full clean driving licence and valid passport (desirable)

Education & qualifications:

  • Min HNC Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
  • Time served apprentice (desirable)

  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills

Good fault finding capability
