We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commissioning Engineer to join a leading specialised automation solutions provider in the Greater Manchester area. This is a global business who are world-leaders in their industry and continue to provide ever technological innovations through their award-winning R&D.
This position would suit a skilled engineer with an electrical engineering background. You will be involved in the in-house testing of high-tech systems including initial powering up, configuring and troubleshooting. You will then accompany the systems on to customer site and alongside colleagues be responsible for installation and commissioning.
You must be able to be hands-on in the troubleshooting of primarily electrical and some basic software problems, but occasionally may have to tackle minor mechanical issues also. This position will involve frequent international travel, so flexibility to work away from home is essential.
To be successful in applying for this position you must have:
- An electrical background ideally, although some mechanical competence is beneficial
- Understanding of the basic principles of servo drives/robotics/motion systems and how to troubleshoot
- Some experience with Profibus/Fieldbus/CANopen would be desirable
This position would provide a salary of £40,000 - £42,000 depending on experience, with flexibility possible for the ideal candidate. Plus an excellent benefits package including company matched pension, private medical cover, travel cover and all travel expenses paid for.
