Job Title: Commissioning Engineer

This is a software biased role that requires knowledge of Flow Computer, SCADA and PLC configuration in order to engineer working solutions on time and within budget. There is a requirement to work within a team for each project and communication between members is key to project success. To carry out all on site installations, commissioning and maintenance activities.
Key Results Areas:
·Meet project time-scales and client deliveries.
·Maintain and promote professional, effective and harmonious relationships within the Company and customer representatives.
·Design, configure and code Flow computers, PLC’s and Supervisory Computer SCADA in to meet the requirements of the functional design specification and Client specifications.
·To research and develop any additional project specific software utilities.
·To integrate and configure and test control system components as complete controls packages.
·Raise any clarifications required to ensure the client requirement is fully known and understood.
·To maintain accurate documentation relating to projects in accordance with company procedures.
·To escalate perceived shortcomings of design or practices to the Engineering Manager or Project Manager (Controls) at earliest opportunity.
·To provide assistance, as required, for sales / project engineering / development / testing / FAT / commissioning / service.
·Attend Sales Strategy meetings.
·Review client’s specifications and prepare a controls technical proposal.
·Prepare proposal cost estimate in accordance with the scope of supply.
·Where appropriate liaise with the commercial department and provide input into commercial documentation where necessary.
·Create or arrange for Single Block Diagrams and GA to be produced.
·Have cost estimates and proposals checked and approved.
·When allocated identify the applicable flow calculation measurement standard for the products.
·When allocated create the FDS and associated design documents.
·When allocated code PLC’s.
·When allocated code Flow computer’s.
·When allocated code Supervisory Computer’s.
·To carry out all on site installation, commissioning and maintenance activities both in UK and overseas.
·To act as Technical Support Engineer if allocated, as part of the customer support contracts with clients.
·When requested to carry out Works System Test in line with FAT procedures.
·Prepare and carry out Client Training sessions either in company offices or at Client Site.
·To be responsible for maintaining a valid calibration certificate for test equipment issued by the company.
·To carry out site system tests in line with SAT procedures.
·Maintain a filing system in accordance with ISO 9001 and standard procedures.
·Maintain daily log of commissioning activities and to create a daily visit report.
·Ensure that mark-up drawings are passed to appropriate engineers to create “as built drawings”.
·To ensure outstanding work lists (punch lists) are updated and cleared.
·Ensure that the commissioning, testing and maintenance quality meets the specification requirements.
·Ensure that all work is carried out safely.
·Obtain customer feedback.
·Use the NCR system to record any site problems / issues.
·Look for opportunities for company to secure more work, obtain contact names.
·Where appropriate discuss with clients what other services the company offer.
Skills & Knowledge:
·Oil and Gas Metering Systems or other Industrial Control Systems using SCADA and PLCs.
·Schneider ClearScada, Schneider Citect or other SCADA software.
·Allen Bradley RSlogix, Siemens S7 or other PLC programming.
·Emerson S600, Omni 6000 or other Flow Computers.
·D Base database.
·Windows Operating System.
·RS232/RS485 serial interfaces.
·Visual Basic programming.
·Understanding of design documents e.g. P&ID, Loop Diagrams, FDS, Junction Box drawings etc.
·Fiscal Metering Knowledge.
·Hazardous Area Knowledge.
Operation and Fault finding knowledge of:
·Valves e.g. HV, MOV, FCV’s.
·Gas let down systems and Gas Analysers e.g. Chromatograph, H2S, Dewpoint.
·Fast Loop and Sampling Systems.
·Master Metering, BiDi Proving, Compact Provers.
·Metering Control Panels, Flow Computers, PLC and Supervisory Computer Systems.
·Understanding of how to use Kelton FlowCal.
