Interim Commissioning and Procurement Lead
Based: London
Length: 3-6 months
IR35 Status: Inside

One of our local authority clients is looking for an interim Commissioning and Procurement Lead to develop and implement a number of commissioning activities which the authority is leading on, within Children's Services.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Lead on the procurement within the Children's Commissioning team which spans across a number of invested Boroughs, rather than in one Local Authority
  • Commission services that align with and improve the current Health and Wellbeing programme that is being initiated across these partnership boroughs
  • Manage and commission a contract portfolio that is expected to reach £1 billion over the next six years, of which the priorities currently include; Children's residential care homes and semi-independent homes for young adults
  • Lead on the commissioning and procurement of these contracts which will span across nine boroughs
  • Effectively utilise an e-tendering system for numerous procurement processes and tenders



Key Skills and experience:

  • A demonstrable background in commissioning and procuring services within Children's services within a local authority environment
  • Working knowledge and experience of OJEU and e-tendering
  • Experience working collaboratively in a partnership environment, involving a number of boroughs
  • The ability to maintain and manage both the performance and quality of services and contracts
