A large independent broker has a vacancy within a major division of its business, located in Newcastle. Our client is a long-established and well-respected business with offices across the UK. The business places its relationship with clients at the core of what they do, and they intend to remain a byword for service and excellence. A vacancy has arisen in their Underwriting team to deal with Property and Liability matters for Farm and Estates clients. The role involves work on all elements of delegated authority schemes, including pricing & binding for new business and renewals, dealing with MTA's and other queries.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate an awareness of the marketplace and market conditions locally and nationally. You should act at all times within authority limits and be aware of the implications of Compliance, Diligence and Changes in Legislation. You should have at least two years' experience of underwriting these classes, ideally from a similar background. Progress towards CII would be a definite advantage and qualifications in role will be supported and encouraged. Part - time working will be considered, subject to a minimum of 21 hours per week over at least 3 days to include Monday.
