As a Commercial Underwriter you will hold responsibility for providing new business quotations on request by telephone, email and post. You will assess the risk and negotiate terms, ensuring adherence with the departments service standards. You will take instructions from brokers ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed and relevant records are updated and maintained. Additionally you will deal with the renewal of existing business, applying terms as required. To assist with training/development of other staff members within the team as required.
It is essential when applying for this position that you have adequate commercial insurance underwriting/broking experience together with a good understanding of FSA rules. You must have excellent negotiation, communication and team working skills. Progressing towards relevant insurance qualifications would be an advantage.
