Commercial Trading Underwriter

A premier insurer is seeking a property and liability New Business Underwriter for their thriving Birmingham operation.

This is a great opportunity for a driven individual that is a confident trader to really make your name in the market with a leading brand. This is a targeted position, and comes with a target of between £500,000 to £700,000 GWP depending on your level of experience. Your target market will be independent, regional and consolidator broking groups, but not the global multinational brokers. In addition you will also get involved in some renewal cases also.

You will be expected to regularly undertake broker visits as well as be occasionally based on-site. You will work closely with the branch business development managers as well as the renewal underwriting team to ensure that the overall broker account is running as expected.

The key ingredients to be considered for this role are a proven technical track record in writing good quality property and liability new business, coupled with a pro-active positive attitude and strong broker relationship management skills.
