Commercial SME Account Handler, Cheshire

Our client a very fast growing commercial brokerage is seeking an additional SME Account Handler

The function of the role includes being:-

Responsible for providing a customer service, expert and prompt advice and support to an allocated client base.

Carrying out administration support to other Brokers and Management as required.

Must be able to work in line with Company best practice and FCA legislation.

To ensure and work towards company objectives that will provide towards the delivery of agreed departmental strategy and team goals by adding value to the company overall Liability for cash / stock deficiencies or responsibility for budgets / income


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years commercial SME Account handling experience

Progression with CII exams preferred but not essential

Please note that candidates may be required to travel to other offices and clients premises on occasion 

Attendance at events may be required

Main duties / responsibilities in order of priority

Effective and timely communication with all clients - email, letters & telephone. 

Review the demands and needs of all customers and advise on the appropriate insurers and cover 

Prepare presentations, renewal reports as required 

Build relationships with Key Insurers and knowledge of relevant markets 

Assist on new placements & new product requirements 

Checking and issuing of insurance documentation and inviting renewals 

Complete various reports as required throughout the insurance cycle 

Liaise as necessary with insurers in relation to client’s policies 

To actively cross sell additional products and services

Maintain client files in keeping with company and FCA guidelines at all times 

Maintain all Systems and applications to ensure up to date at all times 

Actively clear aged debt and return premiums 

Resolution of client issues and escalate where necessary a team player 

Practical working knowledge of current FCA regulations

High personal drive and resilience 

Ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate and influence 

Continuous application of personal/professional
