Job Title: Commercial Project Development Manager
Salary: £36,500 - £55,000 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus
In this role you’ll be supporting SSE to successfully transition into the local authority led city-wide energy solutions driven by district heating opportunities. This means that you’ll be engaging and working directly with local authorities to; develop their projects prior to being procured, lead contract negotiations, directly draft and manage bids/proposals and successfully transition projects from initial engagement to contract signature stage.
Further to you’ll; lead the internal and external project team to deliver technical, commercial and legal outputs to support tender and negotiation phases on specific projects, manage the outputs of supporting roles to produce high quality project proposals/submissions and approved negotiating positions as well as ensuring that SSE complies with the local authority’s bidding structure and requirements.
Your Skills and Experience
Due to the nature of this role, you should have; district heating related professional experience, local authority or Government contact network and a deep understanding of local authority objectives, governance and procurement processes.
You’ll have a broad commercial and technical understanding of district heating networks, an understanding of project development stages, enjoy meeting people and building relationships and be motivated by converting low carbon opportunities into tangible projects with the objective of meeting the UK’s carbon reduction targets.
The Enterprise Division comprises four companies: Contracting, Rail, Telecoms and Utilities. The SSE Enterprise Projects and Operational Support Team support the entire Enterprise division leading the deployment of best practice in assurance, project management, engineering and in handling strategic projects.
