Our client, based in Buckinghamshire, is currently recruiting for a Commercial/Procurement Manager on a temporary contract for three months. Our client is a public sector one looking for candidates with similar experience.
The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis with home working involved. The daily rate for this role is negotiable dependent on experience, up to a maximum of £250UMB.
The ideal candidate will have experience working for a public sector body and will be MCIPS qualified.
Duties will include (but not limited to):
Working alongside the Head of Service to identify the procurement needs of each service area
Leading on purchasing and procurement activity to maximize savings
Managing a team of Procurement/Contracts Specialists and Administrators effectively
Working closely with tenants and leaseholders to ensure customer satisfaction
Leading in negotiating contract extensions and variations with assistance from the relevant technical staff when required
Coordinating the dispatch and return of tender documentation and assessing responses
Maintaining detailed records and registers in order to provide an audit trail and evidence for decisions taken
Developing tender evaluation models
This position requires experience of direct line management.
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Detailed knowledge of EU procurement rules/procedures
Project management skills/PRINCE2 qualification is ideal
Strong IT and E-tendering skills
37 hours per week
