Working on behalf of a local authority, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager with proven commercial management within social housing or building maintenance. Initially until the end of March 2026. 3 days per week, 8am – 4pm, 30 minute lunch. Day rate from £450 to £566.42. Based in Rugby. Ideally want someone who will consider temp to perm.

Purpose

Lead the commercial and contractual dimension of the Council’s Housing Repairs & Maintenance service (within the Housing Revenue Account), driving cost efficiency, procurement compliance, and high service standards through contract management. chain.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven commercial management within social housing or building maintenance.
  • Applicants should ideally be MCIPS Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply
  • Substantial experience of managing supply chain on scale and proven track record of delivering value for money savings and service improvements.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience managing various forms of contract
  • Proficient level of IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams
  • Highly numerate and articulate with strong financial acumen
  • Excellent report writing and language skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders both externally and internally
  • Strong understanding of and responsibility for governance and risk management of supply contracts.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external customers. Understands and anticipates the needs of customers. Acts to address customer needs and strives to exceed customer expectations.
