Commercial Manager - Ground Support Equipment

The Commercial Manager - Aviation Ground Support Equipment will be responsible for maintaining the current customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs. This should result in a pro-active approach allowing you to optimise the UK's fleet of rental assets throughout their life cycle.

My client also has extremely high employee retention levels and due to growth they are now looking to hire a southern based Area Sales Manager to cover the UK customer base.

Description

The Commercial Manager - Aviation Ground Support Equipment will:

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Ensure a pro-active customer approach is maintained
  • Manage the asset fleet to maximise rental revenue and minimise lost revenue from out of rent assets
  • Co-ordinate with the International group to manage the asset life cycle from pricing, setting specifications, through operational service and on to disposal of the asset
  • Build business cases to support new and existing business, identifying and controlling risk and ensuring adequate returns for all UK operations activity
  • Successfully manage sales projects from cradle to the grave (lead till delivery on site)
  • Take account of the ongoing evolution of the business in the organisational structure within rental services and repair and maintenance operations to deliver the UK objectives.
  • Take lead / Offer support on specific ad-hoc projects such as tenders
  • Prepare sales budget and participate in budget meetings / days

Profile

The Commercial Manager - Aviation Ground Support Equipment will have:

  • Technical knowledge of Ground Support Equipment
  • OEM sales experience
  • Strong commercial acumen, highly numerate and analytical
  • Relationship management up to Board level
  • Ability to plan, develop and execute multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to develop 'partnership' relationships with senior colleagues
  • Working knowledge of the aviation industry (desirable)
  • Fleet and logistics management
  • Project/program management
  • P&L responsibility, with a focus on cost control
  • Experience building and 'risking' business cases and negotiating with both clients and suppliers
  • Previous experience working in the Ground Handling or rental business (desirable)

Job Offer

£65,000 base + car allowance + package
