Commercial Lending Underwriter

Kind Consultancy is working with a specialist mortgage and lending distributor who are seeking a Commercial Lending Underwriter to join their growing team.

Key responsibilities of the Commercial Lending Underwriter will include:

  • Building and developing relationships with lenders
  • Placing cases (from simple to difficult) with a panel of lenders and seeing them through to completion
  • Ensure cases are handled in an appropriate and efficient manner through to sale and completion, regularly communicating with both introducers and clients
  • Identifying new lenders in the market space and assessing worthiness of being added to the panel
  • Negotiating with and, when appropriate, challenging lenders and surveyors
  • Maintaining awareness of market trends and industry news, including forthcoming regulations within the sector

Our ideal candidate for the Commercial Lending Underwriter role:

  • Has extensive knowledge of lender criteria for both Bridging and Commercial and a good understanding of taxation rules
  • Has a thorough understanding of the Buy to Let market including PRA Regulations
  • Has recent packaging experience dealing with Specialist Commercial and Bridging lenders
  • Has knowledge of the intermediary market and experience of working with intermediaries
  • Is a target-driven team player
  • Is IT literate with good Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Has pre-existing relationships with 1st Charge lenders
  • Is mature, credible and comfortable in interacting with a range of lenders, sales managers and financial institution
