We are seeking candidates with a very strong grounding within insurance claims handling to work within a successful and stable insurance broking team. You will take on responsibility for handling claims from first notification through to settlement including but not limited to checking that cover applies, creating the necessary file/record and if applicable, keeping the Director/Account Executive/Handler up to date with the present position on large, complex, difficult or appropriate claims.
In addition you will also support where possible the account handlers with administration, broking duties as well as being a key part of the executive team and on occasions visit clients as new business and renewal presentations. You will be a key point of contact for claims and attend loss adjuster meetings where appropriate.
Ideally five years claims experience
Ideally PI/Liability/property claims experience as well as admin experience.
Size of claims vary hugely so will need experience at all levels.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) that are effective and meet business needs.
Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
Excellent team working skills.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Ability to apply own judgement and experience when making decisions or speaking to clients and at the same time, knowing when to refer to an appropriate expert.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Ability to work without supervision.
IT skills commensurate with computer packages used.
