Commercial Insurance Account Handler

A leading UK broker and solution supplier is adding to its niche team and is sourcing a Commercial Broker for its Bristol operation.

Purpose and dimensions of the role:

Assist existing Commercial Brokers and Account Executive workload.
Handle day to day correspondence, process claims correspondence.
Monitor and manage own renewals
Assist as requested on Delegated Authority Schemes

Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities of job:

Deal effectively with client requests including changes in cover and risks
Produce and maintain in good order a register of insurances for own client
Follow compliance and internal procedures
Take a pro-active approach in identifying client needs and objectives
Maintain and develop an up to date technical knowledge appropriate to Client
Participate in new business initiatives as appropriate in a client advisory capacity

Key Competencies

Good communication skills - in both verbal and written forms
Able to work as effective team member, with flexible approach to workloads
IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Windows, Word, Excel & Outlook
Effective negotiator - with both internal and external customers
Appropriate insurance experience (ideally in a broking Commercial Business Insurance) however SME / Scheme / Package experience could be acceptable including in underwriting.
