Are you an experienced Commercial Insurance Account Handler, with broker or insurer experience looking to earn up to £30,000? If you work or are prepared to move to the Cambridge area then we would like to hear from you.

This is a key insurance customer servicing role within a broking team in Cambridge, supporting Commercial Insurance Account Executives. You will be dealing with existing customer insurance queries whilst reporting to the Insurance Team Leader and the Commercial Director.

Key Responsibilities

Advising and liaising with existing insurance customers, Insurers and Account Executives via telephone, post and internet.
Providing support from the Cambridge office to Account Executives for commercial insurance renewals and discuss customer strategy.
Where a renewal re-broke is required you will submit market presentations to Insurers in a timely manner and work to deadlines.
Approaching and negotiating quotations with Insurance Underwriters in respect of Renewals and Mid Term Alterations.
Using personal judgement and initiative to find the right solution for the customers requirements.
Negotiating insurer commission levels if appropriate.
Evaluating commercial insurance quotations, including review of policy wordings and endorsements, and decision making on placing of the business with the Commercial Account Executives.
Producing detailed Risk Registers and insurance report summaries for presenting to customers as part of their commercial insurance renewal needs.
Record, process, manage information and provide administration support for existing customer policies from inception to renewal.
Liaise and attend meetings with key personnel from Insurance Companies to widen understanding of insurance markets and enhance insurer relationships.
On occasions attend customer meetings in conjunction with Commercial Account Executives from the Cambridge office.
Maintain and share with colleagues knowledge of available insurance products and underwriter contacts.
Attend training and develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Key Skills:

Ideally with a minimum 3 year Commercial General Insurance experience within either a Broker or Insurer environment and living in the Cambridge area.
Capability and experience to deal with significant Commercial Insurance Programmes including, on occasions, Global Insurance requirements.
Excellent face to face and telephone communication skills to enhance customer relationship.
Confidence in the negotiating role enabling you to tackle and address Insurer objections and achieve the best results for our customers.
Ability to carry your Account Handler strategy through via the Commercial Account Executives.
Ability to work enthusiastically and, essentially, to timescales in this insurance brokers Cambridge office.
A 'can do' attitude to get the job done and meet timescales with customer expectations.
Willingness to undertake bespoke internal computer and technical training together with professional examinations as required.
Computer confident and skills - Word, Excel and internal Sirius system,
