Commercial Finance Analyst

The Commercial Finance Analyst plays a critical role in the success of the Commercial Finance Team in supporting the UKI Direct Sales channel. The role involves financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis and key support in conducting and understanding business trends to ensure that UKI Direct delivers against its growth commitments.

The role utilises financial metrics, analysis and effective decision support tools and techniques to maximise business opportunities and mitigate risks. It requires the candidate to be part of a strategic, customer-focused transformation agenda across the UK, challenging the status quo and driving finance simplification, standardisation and globalisation improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the UK Commercial Finance Leader
  • Support the day-to-day activities of Commercial Finance for the UKI Direct Sales channel. To include support for all weekly flash reporting, monthly forecasting, annual planning and collaborating with the Commercial Finance Analysts and Commercial Business Partners to receive and utilise regular operational reporting and other analysis
  • Help create and maintain detailed records of Sales performance for the purpose of Sales plans and Target setting
  • Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends in business performance and seek modern solutions to present findings
  • Identify valuable data sources and identify process automation efficiencies
  • Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data
  • Adopt a team, business, agility and development culture
  • Ensure that business is conducted according to USGAAP and that all relevant financial controls are compliant with SOX at all times

What we’re looking for

You should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Early studier ACA/CIMA/ACCA accountant
  • A results-focused, self-motivated, dynamic character who can operate well both within a team and when working alone
  • Strong oral and written communication skills essential
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills, together with a proactive approach
  • Ability to manage workloads to strict reporting deadlines, as well as to react flexibly to changes in requirements
  • Keen to learn and understand complex systems and processes
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation beneficial
  • High quality Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are essential; knowledge of Oracle, SFDC and Business Objects would be beneficial
