My client, a leading City of London based FTSE 100 retail company, are looking to hire a Finance Analyst. The role sits within the FP&A team and reports directly in to the FP&A Manager. The job has arisen due to my client's excellent performance over the last 5 years, with 2017 being their most successful year to date.
My client has a preference for candidates with at least 12 months to 2 years' worth of analytical experience within banking/financial services or insurance. Candidates should be pursuing their CIMA or ACCA qualification.
The role's duties include reporting and analysing crucial deliverables (i.e. fee recognition, trends and sales revenue), monthly reporting of Business Unit results, compiling and taking charge of variance analysis, preparing forecasts and budgetary analysis for individual business units.
There will be some KPI analysis and meeting with heads of departments to discuss why targets are being missed/achieved (i.e business partnering). Candidates need to be decisive enough to challenge senior members in the business and provide new ideas to increase efficiency. They will be liaising with the FP&A Manager with regards to the P&L and variance analysis. Successful applicants will also be liaising with stakeholders.
Applicants should be pursuing their CIMA or ACCA qualification and have a good level of practical experience with an accountancy package such as SAP, Oracle or SUN. Excel forms a significant part of the role; candidates will need to be highly adept with building pivot tables, v-look ups and formulas. Experience with macros would be a bonus. My client has a preference for candidates currently working in the financial services or insurance sector.
The role is an incredibly progressive position. Candidates have a real opportunity to become future leaders within a dynamic and prestigious FTSE 100 business if they exhibit the right attitude and personality.
