Commercial Export Ops Executive

This small, well established forwarding group have a new position available within their busy operations department at their Heathrow Office. You will have some knowledge of export airfreight processes with good customer service skills.

M-F/9-5.30 hours, £20-24,000 dep on experience.

Job Purpose

To assist the UK department in the running of daily operational requirements for Air/ Road/Sea Imports/ Exports and provide support to Commercial Operations Supervisor when dealing with customers, both in the UK and Worldwide.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responding to phone and email queries and quote requests

  • Liaising with established customers on collection and delivery requirements.

  • Negotiating with transport companies/ Airlines for best market prices for shipments.

  • Planning and organising movement of shipments on and door-to-door / door-to-airport/ airport- to-door basis as requested by customer.

  • Processing documents for movement of goods across UK, EU and worldwide, including Invoices, Packing lists, Customs documents etc. as relevant.

  • Checking shipments are safe/ ready to be shipped when received into the warehouse.

  • Providing updates (Post-Flights etc.) to customers on the status of shipments in transit.

  • Issuing invoices and Billing customers as relevant.

  • Providing logistical/ Administrative support to other offices/ companies in the Group as and when needed.

  • Pass appropriate sales leads to Commercial Operations Supervisor and Business Development.

Essential skills:
  • Confident telephone skills and good manner

  • Excellent standard of written and spoken English

  • Microsoft office skills (Email, Excel etc.)

  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit.

  • Reliable, tolerant, and determined.

  • Well-presented and businesslike.

  • Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability.

  • Able to work well with others and be a team-player.

Ideal Skills:
  • Some knowledge of general process for commercial logistics

  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes

  • Experience in customer service
