Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a permanent Commercial Business Analyst / Business Partner for a leading, reputable and instantly recognisable retail business in the Greater Manchester area that has had continuous growth year on year.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be a strong and very visible member of the team with the responsibilities for commercial insight, planning, business plans, quarterly reforecasts in line with the Strategic Plan and financial performance appraisal.
You will also be tasked to understand the drivers of the business through performance analysis and advising on all matters of potentially significant financial impact to the various business units.
This is a truly commercial role supporting the senior management/Directors in aiding their decision making. Key to the success of the role is the ability to manage and be accountable to multiple stakeholders. You will have great exposure to the business, working closely with the non finance teams, aiding them in making sound conclusions following your analysis.
You will exert influence and support decision making through performance analysis. You will work within a demanding environment and must have the ability to satisfy the requirements of multiple internal and external stakeholders.
You will help to develop, challenge and influence new market business plans; understanding financial performance; influence and liaise with JV partners on targets, budgets and forecasts; be the key finance representative for new market launches\investments projects; liaise with the JV finance teams to develop consistent commercial reporting, analysis and supporting commentary; understand local market anomalies and interpret this into comparable information; prepare quarterly business reviews as well as ad hoc projects.The person
The successful applicant will be a fully qualified ACA or ACCA or CIMA currently in a similar role as a Business Partner or Commercial Business Analyst. You will have previous experience in retail analysis and financial planning in a retail, multi-site leisure, hospitality or FMCG environment.
You will have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and analysis; delivery orientated - able to work in pressurised environments, meet multiple deadlines and manage own priorities.
You will also be able to demonstrate business acumen and ability to gain knowledge across the breadth of a variety of functions. Good communication skills with proven experience of working alongside and presenting to the senior management team and external stakeholders. You be able to translate financial information and create successful business relationships. You will also be able to take a 'big picture' view with demonstrable internal consultancy and influencing skills, while possessing a keen eye for the detail.
