In your role you will be responsible for the planning and trading of our fantastic holidays, whilst working towards a Higher Apprenticeship in Business & Professional Administration – with the added bonus being a permanent role at the end of your time on the scheme.
What you will be doing
As a Commercial Apprentice on our two year Commercial Apprenticeship Scheme you will get a great insight into how we go about planning, pricing and selling our TUI and First Choice holiday experiences. This role will involve 2 placements (each one year) in 2 of 3 core commercial departments; Product Planning, Trading & Aviation Planning. All three roles are well positioned to gain full insight into the Commercial functions of a Tour Operator.
Within our Trading team you will learn how we fill our flights seats and hotel beds at the right price, in order to hit our key targets, as well as how we monitor our competitor’s activity.
Within our Product Management team you will be learning how we select which new holiday concepts and hotels to offer our customers, as well as how we price them and show them to the customer on our websites, in our retail stores and on social media.
Within our Aviation Planning Team, you will get a great insight into how we manage and plan our flying programmes. You will work within the Aviation Support team loading our flying into our systems, managing seasonal changes to our programmes, and then communicating these changes internally and externally to our suppliers and customers.
Based at the head office in Luton, the rotational nature of the Commercial Apprenticeship Scheme gives you a fantastic opportunity to experience many different aspects of our business once you’ve begun life at TUI. We’ll provide an induction plan for you alongside a structured development process, ensuring you continue to learn and develop your skills throughout the programme with the aim of you earning a Higher Apprenticeship qualification. You’ll be assigned a mentor to support you for the duration of the scheme which starts in August 2018.
What we are looking for
- Those that have recently completed their A-Level / College studies or are in their final year of A-Level / College studies.
- Achieved a minimum of 112 UCAS points (based on the UCAS 2017 Tariff) or 280 UCAS points (based on the UCAS Tariff effective up to 2016)
- Interest in the travel industry
- Desire to learn
- PC Literate with basic knowledge of Word and Excel desirable
- Good numeracy and communication skills
- Drive and determination to complete qualification
- Be available to join us in August 2018
