About the Role:

Working as a Commercial Account Handler within the small business unit (SBU) team, you will be required to provide a professional service to small business clients across their insurance needs in order to maximise growth and retention. The role will combine new business telesales as well as existing business cross - selling, upselling and retention. More specific duties will include;

  • Prepare and carry out successful marketing exercises for new business campaigns
  • Utilise panel providers to secure new business
  • Up-sell and cross-sell to existing client base
  • Support retention by providing strong customer service
  • Respond to sales enquiries in a timely manner
  • Prioritise your own workload and client requests
  • Ensure all business activity is logged appropriately
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Be the first point of contact to clients
  • Ensure the efficient and accurate production of all reports
  • Provide relevant information to the sales team to ensure sales opportunities are realised
  • Understand individual client needs and identify the correct insurance market
  • Present/broke standard risks to the relevant insurers to enable a quotation to be provided

Key Skills/Experience Required:

In order to be considered for the opportunity of Small Business Account Handler, you must possess the following;

  • Previous commercial account handling experience, although personal lines will be considered
  • Strong telephone sales based abilities
  • The ability to communicate at all levels with employees, clients, insurers and external suppliers alike
  • Articulate and good attention to detail
  • Strong PC literacy to include; Word and Outlook
  • Cert CII qualification would be preferred but not essential
