Gap personnel operating as an employment business are currently recruiting for skilled Coded Welders/ Fabricators for our prestigious engineering client based in Chard. This is an amazing opportunity with a real chance of progression within the company.

The responsibilities/ daily tasks for this role are as follows:
• To carry out production duties in the Welding shop area.
• To maintain the required level of output
• To observe the company systems and procedures at all times.
• Observe the company working hours.
• Use the required P.P.E. in the work area.
• Produce the allocated work carefully and in a timely fashion
• Ensure that the Section Supervisor is informed if training is required to achieve the planned level of competence.
• Ensure that procedures and work methods for the area are observed at all times.
• Ensure that all documentation is completed in full.
• Ensure that all safety aspects are observed.
• Ensure that environmental requirements are observed and that the area is maintained in a clean and tidy condition.
• Ensure that all waste product is disposed of in an approved manner.
• Ensure that completed product is passed to the next operation in a timely fashion.
• Regularly inspect equipment in use in their area to ensure that it is maintained and/ or calibrated.
• Ensure that the Section Supervisor is informed of any problems which become evident in their area.

The ideal candidate will have the following:
• Extensive experience in Welding and/or fabrication
• Past experience working in an engineering/manufacturing environment advantageous
• A proactive mind set, willing to take on new challenges and complete tasks accurately and efficiently
• Extensive knowledge of the health and safety aspects of the role including correct PPE
