Our client is an automotive 1st / 2nd tier supplier, a traditional well-established privately owned engineering company with sites across the Midlands.
They are involved in the batch manufacture of components for a number of OEMs across a number of sectors and are currently in a period of sustained organic and acquisitive growth with substantial investment in new machinery and infrastructure.
They are currently seeking an experienced Machine Shop Manager who can lead and inspire up to 60 team members across a double day shift within the CNC and traditional machine shop all producing parts within strict quality / cost / delivery parameters.
This is a hands on role where you will be responsible for planning and organising labour and machine time, and delivering business KPI’s that influence Safety, Quality, Environmental and Production Performance and the Cost of Manufacture but also you could be "on the tools" on some occasions - if you want to sit behind a desk all day this is not the position for you.
The required candidate must have proven experience of team management and knowledge of machining - we are particularly interested in candidates with formal qualifications in management.
The company offers a base salary in a band £50 - £55,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package - we want ambitious candidates looking for a structured career path into senior management.
