An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious & driven band 7 pharmacist to work part time within the pharmacy clinical trials team which currently consists of 38 individuals. This post will be 15 hours per week split over Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer centre. It has two hospitals: one in Chelsea, London and another in Sutton, Surrey. We also have a satellite Medical Day Care Unit in the grounds of Kingston Hospital, Surrey. The team continues to support the research strategy of “taking personalised cancer treatment to the next level”, with approximately 330 active IMP studies and increasingly complex new clinical trials across all specialisms.
The successful individual will provide a clinical trial prescription verification service, be responsible for final product check and release, assist in managing and resolving any clinical or dispensing queries with regards to patients' trial prescriptions and assist technical staff with day-to-day queries where appropriate. You will work with the Dispensing & Aseptic Services team to ensure all appropriate clinical trial documentation is completed in line with legislation, Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Clinical Practice. You will also assist with master prescription development for any new clinical trial regimens being set up and approve any pharmacy specific relevant paperwork, ensuring it is in place before a trial opens to recruitment. The role will also include providing continued support for the running and maintenance of studies, including the management of protocol amendments. Applicants do not need to have previous clinical trial, oncology, haemato-oncology or aseptic experience, however this is desirable as the knowledge is key for the role.
This post will be based at the Sutton site but may occasionally be expected to work at our Chelsea site to ensure consistent cover is provided to maintain quality and speed of service during times of absence and annual leave. The Royal Marsden, in association with its partner, The ICR, has an unrivalled worldwide reputation for patient care, research and education. The partnership helps to pioneer new cancer therapies through complex transitional studies and Phase I-III clinical trials. The partnership makes us one of Europe’s largest comprehensive cancer centres.
