The post covers both the Wheelchair and Seating Service, and the Electronic Assistive Technology Service with a 50% commitment to each. The individual will work as a member of the team assessing patient needs and subsequently prescribing, designing and modifying equipment required to meet those needs. There will be a commitment to service related R & D and teaching.
The post is based at Ninewells Hospital but will involve frequent visits to home environments, schools and a wide range of clinical facilities throughout Tayside.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Clinical Scientist and have a good honours degree in Engineering or equivalent and an MSc or other postgraduate qualification in Bioengineering or similar subject. Clinical experience at an advanced level in wheelchairs and seating and/or electronic assistive technology is essential.
