An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist to join our rural Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay Community Mental Health Team. Candidates should have clinical expertise of mental health attained through relevant experience and knowledge of current interventions. Working as a Clinical Psychologist within the CMHTs, you will provide a high quality psychological assessment and therapy service in the field of adult mental health, particularly working with complex cases.

The successful candidate will exhibit enthusiasm regarding multi-disciplinary working, and feel confident in working as an integral member of the community team, offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to other colleagues, and to other non-professional carers. You should be able to work in a creative way to provide care to people who use mental health services and have an understanding of the current policies and practices influencing mental health. Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills are essential. Evidence of personal and professional development in delivering treatments and providing therapies is desirable.

Applicants must be doctorate (or equivalent) level Clinical Psychologists and be registered with the Health Professions Council.

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Argyll & Bute to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
