Salary: Up to £60,000 – Dependant on experience
Location: Grateley
Permanent: Full Time

The post will require someone with previous experience of working with children who are Looked After.

Job Summary

- To provide leadership to a Team of Psychologists for Cambian Education Services. To support clinical co-ordination and governance of assessment and interventions provided to children and homes within the region.
- The Clinical Psychologist will line manage all Psychologists, and provide clinical supervision to where appropriate.
- To provide complex case assessment, consultation and intervention to children and young people providing training / supervision to staff and team members where needed.
- Co-ordination and governance of the team and clinical input provided by the team providing monitoring of input and outcomes reporting in to the Clinical Lead to the Service

Overview of Responsibilities.

- To provide leadership, management and supervision to the Psychology Team.
- To govern clinical practice of the MDT ensuring good quality, effective and timely provision of clinical support to children and young people within regional homes.
- To provide regular team supervision to home staff teams.
- To exercise professional judgment and responsibility for the psychological management of children and young people including assessment, formulation, intervention, discharge and effective communication of these plans with other professionals involved in the care of the young person.
- To undertake psychologically based risk assessment and management for individual children and young people and to provide advice on the psychological aspects or risk assessment and management to other professions.
- To effectively monitor the progress of interventions.
- To contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of the team’s operational policies and services, through the use of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit
- To be knowledgeable of key policy drivers and national developments and ensure that these are appropriately reflected in service developments and delivery.
- To receive regular clinical supervision and professional management, according to good practice guidelines.
- To adhere to professional guidance in relation to all areas of clinical practice.
- To undertake other tasks required by the service in negotiation with the service lead.
