Due to a secondment of the current postholder to a promoted post, we have an exciting developmental opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced clinical pharmacist to undertake this role. During this secondment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership, strategic planning and development of the clinical pharmacy service for Acute Services in NHS Lothian including workforce skillmix optimisation and clinical pharmacy redesign/reconfiguration; continuation of work already in progress; and identifying, setting, implementing, reviewing and maintaining the standards applied to the Clinical Pharmacy Service in the delivery of patient care. The postholder will form part of the Pharmacy Strategic Service Team and will participate in the overall strategic planning of all Pharmacy Services in Lothian.
The individual must have a degree in pharmacy and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and eligible to work in the UK; a post graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences is essential. Experience in working at a senior level in a pharmacy management/professional leadership post; practical experience in facilitating change in clinical practice; an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills; and the demonstration of the right values will be essential for the post.
The job will require travel across the acute hospital sites in NHS Lothian with main office base at Waverley Gate. No on-call commitment or out of hours working is required.
