Clinical Library Manager

What you’ll be doing

The successful candidate will have experience supervising a team within a medical library environment and be a proficient clinical researcher.

Main Responsibilities

This role will assist in the general running of the library service. The day to day job will include regular enquiry desk duties – issuing, returns, renewing shelving and shelf tidying and using the Olib Web library management system.

A large part of the role will be to provide information and literature searching services and will provide assistance to users needing help with computers, establishing users’ requirements, identifying appropriate resources, locating/retrieving clinical information, and facilitating knowledge to enable users to help themselves

The role will work with Library team members including the Head Librarian and colleagues from other departments to develop and advance the service and to propose and develop changes to practices and policies within the Library Service, such knowledge management initiatives, support for patient information and opportunities for exploiting emerging technologies

Also, to provide support as required for LQAF accreditation and Library dashboards; including helping to collect statistics and monitoring use of the Library

Why you’ll be hired

To be considered for this role you will require:

- Experience of clinical research, preferably within the NHS

- Experience of managing a team within a library provision

- A qualification in the Library field.
