This position would suit a professional based in a clinical area with a desire to learn to drive clinical quality improvement, working part time in improvement and part time in their clinical area.Working jointly with the Nursing and AHP Professional Lead and the Improvement Lead for Excellence in Care/Back to Basics Programme, this is a rarely available and sought after opportunity to make a difference to patient care for a bigger population than can be achieved individually.Working with clinical teams to support their drive for improvement, the post holder will develop improvement plans for all the clinical areas (as part of the improvement team).
Developing aims to be achieved, measures of how changes are working and identifying new ideas for change by working with individuals and teams at the point of service delivery. Acting as an ambassador for change to facilitate the clinical quality change process, this role will provide guidance and support structures to enable clinical teams to use improvement methodologies, influencing and motivating staff to achieve high standards of evidence-based care. Undertaking this role for a 9 month period will give the post holder opportunity to develop their interest in quality improvement and to take that knowledge back to their clinical area to sustain improvement at ward or department level.
As part of the role the post holder will be required to provide on-site clinical practice and continuous professional development activities.
The role will demonstrate leadership skills in embedding the principles of compassionate, person-centred care.
